SPRING ROLLS & WATER PUPPETS

Saying Goodbye to HaLong Bay

As we gathered for our final breakfast the crew directed us to the dining room. Phuc informed us "the captain said rain is coming". As we sat down to breakfast the clouds turned ominous and the winds began to blow, next came the rain.

After breakfast the chef, with Phuc as translator educated us on the making of spring rolls. He also demonstrated the art of vegetable carving, turning a turnip into a turnip into a dove.

Phuc ended our time together with a fascinating lesson about the Vietnamese language.

Enroute back to Hanoi we stopped in a village called Yen Duc in the Dong Trieu province. There we were entertained by group of traditional water puppeteers.

Precious faces
This little girl was so animated trying to get my attention.
